Raise a concern about a charity with the Charity Commission
The Charity Commission regulates registered charities in England and Wales. This channel files each supporter's concern about one registered charity on the Commission's own Raising a concern form, in the supporter's name. It covers charities on the register for England and Wales only.
What it files
To whom
What the campaign supplies
- The charity, picked from the Commission's register by name or number.
- The kind of concern, from seven of the categories the Commission's form offers.
- The concern itself, at most 2,000 characters, which is the form's own limit.
- What has been done to raise it with the charity, in the supporter's voice. A default sentence is provided.
What the supporter supplies
- Their first and last name.
- Their email address.
- Their phone number, which the Commission's form requires.
- Whether the Commission may tell the charity's trustees who they are, with a reason if not.
- A tick on the Commission's own declaration that what they file is correct and complete. Section 60 of the Charities Act 2011 makes it a criminal offence to knowingly or recklessly give the Commission false or misleading information.

How it is delivered
Concerns join a queue and are filed on the Commission's form in turn, at most two at a time, and the success screen follows the filing until it is done. If the form cannot be completed, the supporter is emailed everything they need to file it themselves. Each supporter's copy of the concern is personalised from the campaign's template, and a copy that would run past the 2,000 character limit is replaced by the template as written, never cut short.
