Campaign channel
Complain to a newsroom outside the UK
IPSO and Ofcom stop at the UK border. For an outlet outside it, this channel emails each supporter's accuracy complaint straight to the newsroom's own editorial address, resolved from the outlet directory.
Newsroom email (non-UK)5 credits per delivery
What it files
A personalised accuracy complaint, emailed to the newsroom.
To whom
The editorial or corrections address the outlet publishes, resolved from the outlet directory at send time.
What the campaign supplies
- The outlet, searched from the directory.
- The article link.
- A subject line and the complaint template.
What the supporter supplies
- Their first and last name.
- Their email address.
Consent
The supporter agrees that a personalised complaint is emailed on their behalf to the newsroom this campaign names.
Credits per delivery
5 credits. One delivery is one supporter's copy, so a campaign that writes to three recipients on a supporter's behalf draws three deliveries.
How it is delivered
The address is resolved from the directory when the letter is sent, not copied into the campaign, so an outlet that changes its corrections inbox does not break a running campaign. Every supporter's copy is personalised from the campaign's template: the subject is rewritten for each send, and the body's arrangement varies per participant, so a thousand filings are not one document a thousand times.
